Australia: Anzac Day Terrorist Attack Warning
Terror experts warn of possible attack on Anzac Day
Terror experts in Australia have warned of the possibility of a ‘lone-wolf’ style terrorist attack taking place on Anzac Day on 25 April. In particular, they warned that terrorists may seek to drive a vehicle into large crowds, as thousands are expected to line the streets in Sydney from Martin Place to Hyde Park to commemorate Australia's fallen soldiers. Previous vehicle ramming attacks have taken place in Nice, Berlin and on Westminster Bridge in London. There will be heightened security throughout the day. The country's terrorism threat level remains at 'probable'.
Those operating or residing in Australia are advised to be aware of the threat of Islamic extremism and terrorism. Expect heightened security throughout Anzac day. Report any suspicious packages, activity or behaviour to the local authorities and remain vigilant.
