Bangladesh: Heightened Security Measures in Dhaka for Former UK Prime Minister’s Visit

Anticipate heightened security as Dhaka prepares for the visit of David Cameron

Security measures have been heightened across Dhaka, including possible road closures and additional checkpoints, as the city prepares for the visit of the former British Prime Minister, David Cameron, between the 26-27 April. Cameron is expected to meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the British High Commission on the United Nations Road in Baridhara.

Those operating or residing in Dhaka between 26-27 April are advised to anticipate heightened security and overland associated disruptions in the city. Report any suspicious packages, activity or behaviour to the local authorities and remain vigilant.
