Bolivia: Serious Flooding Kills 25
On 28 February, the Bolivian government declared a national emergency after recent nationwide flash flooding and landslides killed at least 25 people. Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms have affected at least 5200 families in 61 municipalities in Chuquisaca, La Paz and Potosí. At least 27 people are also still missing. Further adverse weather conditions are expected through until 3 March.
Monitor all instructions issued by the local authorities and prepare for further flooding. In the event of flooding, keep in mind that driving or walking through running water can be dangerous; 15 cm (6 in) of running water is enough to knock over an adult.
