At least six people have been killed and 30 others wounded, after two suspected Boko Haram suicide bombers detonated their explosives at a refugee camp in Kolofata in the Far North region. Earlier last month, Cameroonian security forces shot dead a female suicide bomber before she was able to detonate her suicide vest, during an attempted attack on a patrol unit in Kolofata in the far north region. A second female suicide bomber prematurely detonated her vest at the scene, killing only herself. No others were injured.
Defer all non-essential travel to the Far North region and areas bordering with Nigeria, due to the credible threat of violence, kidnapping and terrorism. For business-critical travel, contract a reputable local guide and consider a private security escort.
