Egypt: Security Forces Arrest Suspected Militants and Destroy Tunnels in North Sinai
22 militants arrests in North Sinai
At least 22 suspected militants have been arrested during security operations across North Sinai governorate, whilst several tunnels that were used by militants were also destroyed in and around Rafah. Egyptian forces are continuously fighting against Islamic State and Islamic State linked elements both in the Sinai Peninsula and outside of it.
Those operating or residing in Egypt are advised to refrain from all travel in North and South Sinai governorates and to avoid travelling near to security and government forces, infrastructure and personnel. ISIS are known to have a stronghold in the Sinai Peninsula and frequently kidnap and murder people. Report any suspicious packages, behaviour or activity to the authorities and remain vigilant.
