Protests Reported Near Port-au-Prince International Airport

The United States Embassy in Haiti has issued a security message to warn of ongoing protests in the SONAPI Industrial Park to the west of Toussaint L’Ouverture International Airport (PAP/MTPP) in Port-au-Prince. Several factories in the area have also reportedly closed as a result of the protests.

Those operating or residing in Port-au-Prince are advised to anticipate elevated security and associated disruptions to travel in proximity to protest locations. Monitor the local news for more information regarding the protests. Avoid all large gatherings of people on a regular basis due to the threat of protest related violence.
