At least six people have been killed, with many more wounded, after two separate car bombs detonated in the Rukban refugee camp, close to the Syrian border in Mafraq governorate. There have been no immediate claims of responsibility for the explosions, however, Islamic State (IS) are the suspected culprits.
Those operating or residing in Jordan are advised to defer all non-essential travel along the length of the Jordan-Syria border. Islamic State (IS) are known to have a presence here and have in the past stated their intent to carry out attacks on those in Jordan. Contract a reliable local security escort for purposes of business and critical travel.
