Local media has reported that at least 20 suspected Islamic State militants have been killed after they clashed with security forces during a series of counter-terror operations and raids in the vicinity of Qaa and Ras Baalbek, on 24 April. On the same day, security forces also carried out raids targeting the Fateh al-Sham terror group in Arsal.
Those operating or residing in Lebanon are advised to avoid all non-essential travel within the country. Do not travel to the eastern Beqaa region or to areas near the Syrian border. There is a high threat of terrorism within the country and several terror groups are known to be active and operational. Travellers already working or living in Lebanon should be aware of the risks of remaining in the country. Remain vigilant at all times.
