Heavy fighting has been reported into Zawiya district, between two rival militia groups. The violence is said to have broken out after members of one militia gunned down two fighters from the other militia in a café on 3 June.
It is advisable to defer all non-essential travel to Libya. There are several rival factions battling for control in the country and violent clashes take place on an almost daily basis and personal safety cannot be guaranteed. Those in Libya are advised to take advantage of commercial flights whilst they are still operating.
