Malaysia: Bomb Threat Triggers Travel Disruptions at Sultan Abdul Halim Airport

Bomb threat triggers temporary disruptions to travel at Sultan Abdul Halim Airport

On 2 May, airport authorities temporarily suspended flight operations at Sultan Abdul Halim Airport (AOR/WMKA) located in Alor Setar, Kedah state, following a bomb threat. Operations resumed three hours later after emergency personnel cleared the building, but several flights were cancelled and/or diverted. Flight schedules will likely resume as normal from today onwards.

Those who plan to fly to or from Sultan Abdul Halim Airport (AOR/WMKA) are advised to be aware of a bomb threat on 2 May which resulted in disruptions to travel. Be aware of the threat of terrorism within Malaysia. Report any suspicious packages, activity or behaviour to the local authorities and remain vigilant.
