Mexico: Roadblocks and Clashes Reported in Michoacán State
Three trucks detained and one set on fire
Unidentified militants have reportedly set up five roadblocks, including on the Siglo XXI highway and detained three trucks, setting one on fire, across Michoacán State. The incident unfolded after security forces detained at least 22 armed men following a brief exchange of fire in the Gambara area of Mugica municipality.
Those operating or residing in Michoacán are advised to be aware that the situation in the state remains volatile. Visitors are advised to maintain a low profile and to register their itineraries with local consulates. Maintain a heightened sense of vigilance and awareness of your surroundings. Refrain from travelling to secluded areas and avoid all situations in which you may become isolated.
