The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced that the death toll from a meningitis outbreak across several states in the country, including Abuja, Zamfara, Katsina, Sokoto, Niger, Kebbi and Yobe, has risen to at least 745 dead, with 8057 suspected cases reported. The outbreak has been linked to a strain of meningitis that is resistant to the standard vaccine.
