Nigeria: Workers to Strike at Lagos Airport on 10 October
An ongoing strike at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (LOS) in Lagos, held to denounce the dismissal of 20 employees who allegedly intended to join aviation unions, continues to disrupt operations. Terminal 2 is reportedly inaccessible, leaving passengers stranded. Flights are likely to be delayed or cancelled throughout the day and potentially into the coming days, as the unions have threatened to continue their strike if their demands are not met. Airlines affected by the strike include Arik Air, Medview Airline, Azman Air, Max Air, Dana Air, and Aero Contractors. The protest has also caused traffic disruptions in the vicinity of the airport. An increased security presence has been reported.
Reconfirm all flight schedules with booking agents or airline representatives before setting out and contact the airline for more information about how your travel plans might be affected by the suspension.
