North Korea threaten to sink the USS Carl Vinson
In another warning issued by North Korea, Kim Jong Un has threatened to sink an American aircraft carrier, the USS Carl Vison, as it heads towards the peninsula as part of a joint military exercise with Japanese naval ships in the Philippine Sea. North Korean state run media has boasted about their military capability and published a warning that Kim Jong Un is ready to use such military might and that it would be able to sink a ‘nuclear-powered aircraft carrier with a single strike.’ The threat was issued as a pair of Japanese destroyers joined the USS Carl Vinson and two other US warships as they continued on their path north in the western Pacific Ocean.
It is advisable to be aware of escalating tensions with North Korea, who have made numerous threats in the past weeks. South Korea has said that they would quadruple the reward they will pay for North Korean defectors who will share information which will help enhance security.
