Poland: Anti-Government Rallies Continue Across the Country
Avoid large crowds and protests on an ongoing basis
Local media reports have indicated that anti-government demonstrators gathered outside court buildings in Bydgoszcz, Katowice and Lublin, on Poznan’s Freedom Square and on Krakow’s Main Square during the evening of 19 July. The demonstrations are the latest in a string of protests against a controversial bill which would allow the government to replace Supreme Court judges.
Those operating or residing in Poland are advised to anticipate further protests outside of the Parliament building in Warsaw in the near term. Whilst protests are expected to remain peaceful and to pass without incident, due to the volume of those expected to attend it is advisable to avoid overly large crowds during this time. Monitor local media for more information concerning the protests and plan your travel accordingly. Follow all directives issued by local authorities.
