Republic of Congo: French Ministry of Foreign Affairs Updates Travel Advisory
Postpone travel the Pool and Bouenza Department
On 6 June, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued an update to its travel advisory for the Republic of Congo regarding the security situation in the Pool region. The advisory noted that due to armed attacks on vehicles and sites in the area, travellers are advised to postpone travel to parts of the Pool department and the neighbouring portions of the Bouenza department. This includes avoiding travelling on the road between Brazzaville, Kinkala and Mindouli and the bypass between Mindouli and PK 45 district, which is located north of Brazzaville.
Those operating or residing in the Republic of Congo are advised to take heed of the above travel advice and to postpone travel the Pool and Bouenza Department until the security environment stabilises. Contract a reliable local security escort for purposes of business and critical travel.
