Saudi Arabia/Canada: Saudi Arabia’s State Airline Suspends Flights to Toronto
In the latest in a series of measures following a diplomatic row with Canada, Saudi Arabia’s state airline has suspended all flights to Toronto. The move came after Riyadh expelled Canada's ambassador over alleged interference in Saudi domestic affairs after Ottawa's foreign ministry reprimanded Riyadh for jailing human rights activists and called for the immediate release of rights campaigners detained in a recent wave of arrests in Saudi Arabia, including relatives of Canadian citizens. Saudi Arabia also frozen a new trade and investment deal with Canada which was worth billions of dollars and recalled its envoy to the country. Reconfirm all flight schedules with booking agents or airline representatives before setting out and contact the airline for more information about how your travel plans might be affected by the suspension.
