Ongoing violent anti-government protests have continued, after a protester was shot and injured on 3 July. Protests have triggered several road closures and traffic diversions around Hout Bay in Cape Town. Traffic on Hout Bay Main Road has been diverted into Disa River Road, whilst north-bound traffic remains closed from Payn road. Traffic has also been disrupted along routes 108 and 109.
Those operating or residing in Hout Bay are advised to anticipate traffic disruptions over the next 24-hours. Plot an alternative route in order to avoid delays to your journey. Avoid all large gatherings due to the credible threat of protest-related violence. Seek safe shelter if tensions further escalate.
