Spain: Police Detain IS-Linked Terror Suspected in Barcelona and Tarragona
Two Islamic State individuals arrested in Spain
Spanish police have detained two Islamic State (IS) linked individuals on suspicion of planning to travel to Iraq and Syria to engage in militant activities, during separate raids in Badalona in Barcelona and Salou in Tarragona.
Those who plan to travel to or within Spain are advised to be aware of the latest arrests of suspected terrorists. Whilst the arrests do not pose a direct threat to foreign nationals, travellers are nonetheless advised to remain vigilant and to be aware of the threat of Islamic extremism and terrorism in Europe. Report any suspicious packages, activity or behaviour to the local authorities.
