Sudan: Protests Continue in Khartoum
As of 4 March, anti-government protests have continued at the National university of Sudan in Khartoum, calling for the resignation of President Omar al-Bashir and to denounce recent governmental reforms. The protests come amid a recent ban on all gatherings and a state of emergency order issued by the president in late February. Further protests are likely in the coming days and weeks.
Those who wish to travel in Sudan are advised to be aware that security forces are unable to guarantee the safety of travellers across much of the country. Avoid all large gathering and observe local curfews. For essential travel, travel in convoy and with an embassy approved security escort. Proceed with extreme caution.
