Security has been heightened along the shared border between Sudan and Eritrea, with increased patrols being reported. The move came after Sudanese authorities expressed concern over the increasing number of Eritrean nationals attempting to enter Sudan illegally.
Those who wish to cross the Sudanese/Eritrean border are advised to be aware of increased security patrols. Ensure that you have all the correct documents in order to avoid delays and/or detention from security forces. Exercise a high degree of caution in border regions and consider employing personal security for all overland travel in Sudan and Eritrea.
