Sweden: Freight Train Derailment Triggers Disruptions to Travel

Anticipate disruptions to travel as freight train derails

Rail services along the Gothenburg-Halmstad-Malmo and Varberg-Boras routes have been disrupted and a number of services suspended, after a freight train derailed at the Gettero Bridge, near to Vaberg. No injuries have been reported and operations to clear the tracks are reportedly underway. Disruptions to travel routes will likely incur for the duration of the day.

Those who plan to travel by rail in Sweden are advised to be aware of disruptions to travel on the above-mentioned routes. Anticipate further delays and cancellations throughout the day. Plan alternative means of travel during this time in order to avoid delays to your journey.
