Syrian State television has released claims that the world’s most wanted terrorist, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, has been killed after he was hit by an airstrike in Raqqa, Syria. However, this has not been confirmed by ISIS's official media wing Amaq and it is not the first time that the leader of Islamic State has been pronounced dead. The latest claims made by the Assad regime have been met with scepticism and many suspect that it is being used simply as short-term propaganda victory.
It is reminded to avoid all travel to Syria due to wealth of threats and the extreme instability of the country. Avoid all border regions with Syria. Be aware of escalating tensions between the United States, Russian and Iran and for the possibility of military action on all sides.
