United Kingdom: British Airways to Launch Strike Between 16-19 June

British airways cabin crew to strike, again

Cabin crews who work for British Airways are set to stage a further four days of fresh strikes, between 16-19 June, in a dispute over pay and benefits. Members of Unite plan to stage the strikes following a series of industrial action over the past months. Unite claims the ‘mixed fleet’ are on 'poverty' pay rates, with many forced to take on second jobs. Unite commented that, ‘seeking to squeeze ever more from cabin crew and making passengers pay for services which were once complimentary is a sad state of affairs for an airline which once described itself as the 'world's favourite'. The airline has announced that it will confirm its itineraries in response to the industrial action before the strike begins.

Those who are planning to fly with British Airways are advised to be aware of the planned strike between 16-19 June. Reconfirm all flight schedules with booking agents or airline representatives before setting out. Monitor local media for more information concerning any further transport cancellations and follow all directives issued by local authorities.
