ISIS supporters urged to kidnap non-Muslim children and 'own them'

In the latest edition of Rumiyah, an Islamic State (IS) propaganda magazine, IS supporters are urged to kidnap non-Muslim children, based on the argument that they would then ‘own them’. The magazine included pictures of children from the Kings Cross Choir of Cambridge. Rumiyah states “It is permissible to kidnap the children of the Harbi Kuffar (non-Muslims). If he (a Muslim) kidnaps them (non-Muslim) or their children, or subdues them in any way, then the lives and wealth of the harbi kuffar (non-Muslims) are permissible...they own them.” Islamic State terrorists have previously kidnapped hundreds of Yazidi children in Iraq, turning them into suicide bombers. The article also included a piece on stealing Westerners’ wealth and possessions to fund terrorism.

It is advisable to be aware of the global threat of Islamic terrorism. Take care when in proximity to densely populated tourist areas of when visiting sites of symbolic significance. Report any suspicious packages, activity or behaviour to the local authorities and remain vigilant.
