Bahrain: Avoid Planned Protests on 11 August
Avoid planned protest in Barbar
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) has issued updated travel advice to warn of a planned protest. There have been called for an unauthorised protest to take place in Barbar starting at 19:00 local time on 11 August. Demonstrations and protests take place regularly in Bahrain. Protesting may include attempts to disrupt traffic, to rally outside economic centres, throwing Molotov cocktails and the use of improvised explosive devices.
Those operating or residing in Bahrain are advised to be aware of the planned protest on 11 AUgust. Avoid large gatherings and exercise caution if in the vicinity of any demonstrations, due to the credible risk of violence. Heightened security should be anticipated. Monitor local media for more information concerning the protests and possible road closures and follow all directives issued by local authorities.
