Militants Attack Police Stations in Soum Province
Local reports have indicated that suspected jihadist militants launched an attack on two police stations in Baraboulé and Tongomael late on the evening of 27 February. The attack comes later on the same day that two ISIS attacks took place on police in Algeria. Military reinforcements were sent to the affected areas following the latest incident. Further details are not yet available.
For all purposes of business-critical travel to the Sahel administrative region in Burkina Faso, travellers are advised to vary their routines and travel in convoy with an armed security escort. Report any suspicious packages, behaviour or activity to the authorities and remain vigilant.
