Colombia: FARC Disarmament to End on 27 June
Disarmament held across 26 camps
President Juan Manuel Santos has announced that the final act of disarmament of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) will be held across transformation camps on 27 June. The guerrilla fighters are expected to remain in the camps for up to one year, so that they may gradually transition into civil society.
Anticipate heightened security around all 26 transformation camps in rural areas on 27 June. Defer all non-essential travel near such demobilisation camps and avoid travelling unaccompanied across affected rural municipalities without a local guide.
