France: Anti-Terror Police Patrol Alpine Ski Villages
Increased security in tourist destinations
Anti-terrorism police have been seen patrolling Alpine ski villages, amid continued fears of an attack on French resorts popular with tourists. Security personnel have been in bars, restaurants and airports used by winter sports enthusiasts as part of Operation Sentinel, the country’s crackdown on terror. France is still on high alert following a string of deadly terrorist attacks, including a massacre in 2015.
Those operating or residing in France are advised to be aware of an increased security presence in popular tourist destinations. Be aware of the potential for a terrorist attack to take place. Report any suspicious packages, behaviour or activity to the authorities and remain vigilant.
