France: Clashes Ensue in Parisian Suburb

Clashes have erupted between protesters and police in a suburban Paris neighbourhood, as hundreds rallied to protest against police brutality after a black youth was reportedly sodomised with a baton following his arrest. The clashes unfolded in the streets of Aulnay-sous-Bois in the Seine-Saint-Denis suburb. France's interior ministry has confirmed charges of torture and rape against four police officers involved in the case. High tensions have resulted in clashes late on Monday night and early this morning, with several vehicles and public property being set on fire. Further protests are likely to take place in Aulnay-sous-Bois.
