India: FCO Issues Updated Travel Advice
Five killed and more injured in violent clashes with the police
The UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) issued updated travel advice to advise that there has been an incident in the Mandsaur District of Madhya Pradesh between protesting farmers and the police, in which 5 people were killed. In addition, further sporadic violence has been reported in Piplia Mandi town and police have been deployed to contain the situation.
Those operating or residing in India are advised to anticipate heightened security across the Mandsaur District in the near-term. For any travel to Jammu and Kashmir state, register your itineraries and avoid concentrations of security personnel. Avoid all large gatherings of people due to the credible threat of protest-related violence and leave the vicinity if tensions begun to escalate.
