India: Unknown Militants Assassinate PDP Leader in Jammu and Kashmir State
PDP party leader assassinated by unknown militants
Unknown motorcycle -borne militants have shot dead Abdul Gani Dar, one of the leaders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). The assassination took place on the road between Pahoo and Pinglan villages in Pulwama district, Jammu and Kashmir State during the afternoon hours. It is not yet known who was responsible for the killing.
Those operating or residing in India are advised to anticipate heightened security across Pulwama in the near-term. For travel to Jammu and Kashmir state, register your itineraries and avoid concentrations of security personnel. Avoid all large gatherings of people due to the credible threat of protest-related violence and leave the vicinity if tensions begin to escalate.
