Health authorities have warned travellers who are heading to Bali to be aware of an outbreak of measles and to ensure that they have the correct vaccinations to prevent against infection. In the past fortnight, four adults have been confirmed to have contracted the deadly virus, after returning to Australia. Symptoms of the airborne virus include fever, sore eyes and a cough followed by three or four days of a red, blotchy rash that spreads across the body.
Those operating or residing in Bali are advised to be aware of the outbreak of measles on the island. Visit your doctor to obtain the correct vaccinations needed before travelling to Bali and consult a medical professional if you begin to experience symptoms.
