Israeli security forces foil planned terrorist attacks

The Israeli police have foiled a plot by the Palestinian terrorist group, Hamas, to blow up a synagogue in the town of Zichron Yaakov and a train in Binyamina, along with a bus carrying soldiers. According to reports, the perpetrators used social media to keep in touch with their Gaza-based handlers and to connect with others who could help to carry out the attack. Israeli security officials suspect that confiscated contraband was also meant for use in terror attacks, as the packages were meant to be delivered to a small amount of specific addresses. The confiscated items included small motors, paragliders, hidden camera devices, laser devices and weapons attachments.

Members of the terrorist group Hamas continuously seek to cause direct harm to Israeli citizens and infrastructure. The foiling of the recent plot to blow up a synagogue and a train is indicative of this.
