Israel: Hamas Warns They Will Not Accept Israeli Aggression in Gaza

Israel advise Hamas to 'settle down' after they warn they will not accept Israeli aggression

After Israeli retaliatory rocket strikes on Gaza, Hamas has warned Israel not to upset the status quo and that they would “not accept continued aggression by Israel in Gaza.” The warning came hours after Israeli Air Force jets struck several of the terrorist groups positions, in retaliatory strikes to a rocket attack on southern Israel, which was launched from Gaza. There were no causalities reported. Israel’s defence minister commented that the state has “no intention of initiating military action in Gaza, but we also have no intention of accepting sporadic rocket fire.” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has previously said that Israel would not tolerate a “drizzle” of rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip “without a response.” Although most attacks on Israel are not launched by Hamas, the Israeli government holds the ruling terrorist movement responsible for any and all acts of aggression coming from its territory.

Those operating or residing in Israel are advised to be aware of the ongoing threat that the country faces from a number of different enemies. Members of both Islamic State and the terrorist group Hamas continuously seek to cause direct harm to Israeli citizens and infrastructure. Follow the advice of the Israeli security forces and remain alert for siren warnings. Seek immediate shelter in response to the incoming rocket siren indicated by a rising a falling tone and remain there for at least ten minutes.
