Pakistan: Bombings in Lahore
100 people killed in a series of attacks
At least 100 people were killed with several hundred injured in a string of separate bombings in Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar and Sehwan between 13-16 February. Considering the threats posed by the security environment in Pakistan, all travellers and westerners are advised to carefully review their personnel security and to live and work under strict guidelines.
Those operating or residing in Pakistan are advised to maintain a heightened sense of security and to take the appropriate measures to enhance their personal security at all times, due to the serious threat of kidnapping and terrorist violence in the country. Be aware of the potential for both indiscriminate and planned coordinated terror attacks to take place. Take particular care when in proximity to areas populated with westerners.
