Terror attacks possible on 14 August
Pakistan Independence Day will be commemorated on 14 August, with large celebrations and gatherings expected on and around this date. Travellers are reminded that militants may mount attacks leading up to and on occasions of national significance. Avoid rallies, processions and public gatherings. Terrorist attacks can occur anywhere at any time in Pakistan. There have been several large-scale terrorist attacks to have taken place recently and further attacks should be anticipated on the 14 August. Avoid densely populated areas, places of worship or of political/cultural significance. Maintain extreme vigilance.
