Russia: Expect Disruptions to Travel on Fatherland Defender’s Day on 23 February

Expect travel disruptions on 23 February

Heightened security measures and disruptions to overland travel should be expected on 23 February, with the closure of roads, re-routing of traffic and alternative bus schedules, as Russia is set to celebrate Fatherland Defender’s Day. The most disruptions will take place in central Moscow, including areas near the Red Square and the Kremlin.

Those operating or residing in Russia are advised to be aware of associated disruptions to travel, as the Fatherland Defender’s Day is celebrated nationwide. Anticipate heightened security and re-route your travel plans to avoid in order to avoid delays to your journey.
