South Korea: Demonstrations Called for on 1 March
Mass demonstration planned for 1 March
Anti-government protesters are planning to gather on central Seoul’s Gwanghwamun Plaza at 17:00 local time, on 1 March, to demand President Park Guen-hye’s impeachment. The mass demonstration will coincide with the Samiljeol holiday. Supporters of President Park have said that they will stage a counter demonstration at the capital’s Daehanmun Gate at 14:00 local time.
Those operating or residing in Seoul are advised to be aware of a planned protest on 1 March. Expect associated delays to travel during this time and reroute your plans to avoid protest locations. Whilst the protest is expected to remain peaceful, due to the volume of those expected to attend it is advisable to avoid overly large crowds during this time.
