Spain: Taxi Drivers to Protest in Madrid and Barcelona

Taxi Drivers to Protest in Madrid and Barcelona

Protesting taxi drivers are expected to protest along Paseo de Recoletos in Madrid from 11:00-13:00 local time, against the government’s inaction over the Uber and Cabify taxi services. The protest will be accompanied by a 2-hour strike. Similar protests are expected to take place in Barcelona, with thousands of licensed taxi drivers set to stage a “go-slow” protest from Arc de Triomf so Sant Jaume, passing in front of the Parliament of Catalonia in Barcelona, from 10:00 local time.

Those operating or residing in Madrid or Barcelona are advised to be aware of disruptions to travel on the above-mentioned routes. Reroute all travel to avoid protest locations and use alternative forms of transport in order to avoid delays to your journey.
