Sri Lanka: Armed Men Attack Transport Bus in Colombo
7 killed as armed men attack transport bus
On 27 February, armed men reportedly attacked a bus in the city of Colombo, killing at least seven people and injuring over a dozen in the attack. The bus was carrying prisoners. It is suspected that the incident was related to ongoing conflicts between criminal groups.
Those operating or residing in Colombo are advised to expect police security operations in the area. Checkpoints may result in disruptions to travel. There is a risk of further similar incidents taking place and so travellers are advised to remain vigilant.
