Taiwan: Typhoon Hato to Reach Land on 21 August

Monitor alerts issued by the Central Weather Bureau and follow the advice of the local authorities

Typhoon Hato is reportedly due to make landfall on 21 August, bringing heavy rainfall and strong winds. The tropical cyclone season in Taiwan normally runs between May and November.

Those operating or residing in Taiwan should monitor alerts issued by the Central Weather Bureau and follow the advice of the local authorities, including any evacuation orders. Avoid coastal and low-lying areas. Follow all directives issued and maintain a flexible itinerary until the typhoon passes. Flash floods and landslides are possible following heavy rainfall; maintain heightened awareness of surroundings.
