Britain Faces Highest Terror Threat Since IRA Bombings
According to a new watchdog, Britain faces the highest level of threat, not seen since the IRA bombings in the 1970s. Max Hill, who will report annually to Parliament on the state of UK terror laws, has said that more and more Islamic extremists were planning to target and attack UK cities and that there was growing concern that the hundreds of British citizens who had left to fight in Syria, may now be returning to the UK. The Home Secretary, Amber Rudd, agreed with Max Hill’s assessment on the current terror threat and ensured the country is well equipped to deal with any incoming threats. This weekend, four teenagers accused of planning to travel to Syria to join ISIS, were charged at Westminster Magistrates Courts on charges of terror.
Those operating or residing in the UK are advised to be aware that the UK faces an extremely high threat from terrorism. Report any suspicious packages, behaviour or activity to the authorities and remain vigilant.
