Suspected terrorist arrested at Whitehall with knives in his backpack
On 27 April, policemen arrested a man near parliament on suspicion of preparing to carry out an act of terrorism. When detained, the man was found to be in possession of several large knives. The operation was reportedly triggered by a tip-off to the police by a concerned member of the Muslim community. Officers and MI5 agents were waiting for the suspect when they arrested the man metres away from where Khalid Masood launched his attack on Westminster Bridge last month.
Those operating or residing in the UK are advised to be aware of the threat of Islamic extremism and terrorism. Report any suspicious packages, activity or behaviour to the local authorities and remain vigilant.
