United Kingdom: Woman Arrested at Heathrow on Suspicion of Terror Offences
Woman arrested on suspicion of terror-related crimes
British police have reported that a 21-year-old woman has been arrested at Heathrow Airport, on suspicion of Syria-related terror offences. The suspect, who is from North London, was stopped and detained by police on her return from Istanbul, Turkey. She is currently being questioned on suspicion of preparing to carry out acts of terrorism. Two street addresses have also been searched in connection with the arrest.
Those operating or residing within the UK are advised to be aware of the latest arrest of an individual suspected of terror offences. Whilst the arrest does not pose a direct threat to foreign nationals, travellers are nonetheless advised to remain vigilant. Report any suspicious packages, activity or behaviour to the local authorities.
