United States: Tornadoes Kill At Least Four in Texas
Deaths recorded as tornadoes, storms and flooding hit Texas and neighbouring states
At least four people have been killed and 49 others injured, after three tornadoes were confirmed in Texas. Five more are said to have been killed in neighbouring states by storms and flooding. Flood waters in Arkansas, Missouri and Mississippi have been reported, with strong winds destroying houses and collapsing power lines. The governor of Texas commented that over 5000 homes had been affected and that the number of dead could rise in the near-term as rescue operations are carried out.
Those operating in the above-mentioned areas are advised to be aware of the widespread damage caused by recent tornadoes, storms and flooding. Follow the advice of local authorities and emergency services and re-route any travel plans to avoid the worst affected areas.
