United States/Cuba/Puerto Rico: Expect Disruptions as Hurricane Irma Approaches
Hurricane Irma expected to cause disruptions between 6-8 September
“Hurricane Irma is forecast to bring hazardous sea and weather conditions to Puerto Rico and the north-eastern parts of the Caribbean from around 6 September 2017. US authorities warn that Hurricane Irma could also impact Florida and the south-eastern United States from around 8 September. A State of Emergency has been declared in Florida to prepare emergency services. Expect high winds, heavy rain and storm surges. Monitor local media reports and follow the instructions of local emergency officials. Disruptions to essential services may occur. Contact your airline or tour operator to check if tourist services have been affected.”
Those operating or residing in the above-mentioned countries are advised to be aware of the approaching Hurricane Irma. Reconfirm all flight schedules with booking agents or airline representatives before setting out. Monitor local media for more information and follow all directives issued by local authorities.
