West Bank/Gaza: Car Ramming Attack Reported
IDF soldiers shoot dead Palestinian car ramming attacker
The Israel Defence Force (IDF) has reported that Israeli soldiers shot and killed a Palestinian attacker who rammed his vehicle into a group of soldiers in Hebron at the entrance to the village of Beit Anun. Two soldiers were injured, but not seriously. On 14 July, two Israeli policemen were killed in a shooting attack in Jerusalem’s Old City outside the Temple Mount complex, by three Israeli-Arabs from the town of Umm el-Fahm.
In the past two years, Palestinians have killed 45 Israelis, two visiting Americans and a British tourist in stabbings, shootings and car-ramming attacks. Whilst violence has decreased since its peak in winter 2016, when there were almost daily attacks, there have been several deadly attacks in recent months.
Limit outdoor movement in areas affected by IDF operations. Report any suspicious packages, behaviour or activity to the authorities and remain vigilant. Avoid concentrations of security forces and checkpoints.
